Cascade Weaving

Summer and Winter Weave

Date: April 14, 21, 28, 2018
Time: 9am to 12pm

Summer & Winter is like overshot in that it requires two shuttles to weave, but because of the threading, it makes a flatter cloth. It has pattern floats, but the floats go over only three warp ends; it has "tie-down" warp ends that keep everything tidy. With four shafts you can make interesting abstract designs, but with eight shafts you can make hearts and trees and teddy bears or frogs and turtles! In this class you will be weaving a 6-7 inch wide sampler to help you learn about the weave. If you want to weave this pattern at home, you can double the width of the pattern for a table runner or triple the pattern for a towel. On the first day you will pick your colors and start setting up the loom; the other two days you will be weaving the sampler. This class will be part of the Weaving Beginning and Beyond class.
